Safe in the Surf

The recent Fourth of July Weekend saw 500,000 people flock to San Diego area beaches. Obviously, summertime is when people come to take advantage of San Diego's miles of beaches. But summertime is also when the surf can be especially treacherous, as evidenced by the recent drowining of a local teen. The City of San Diego's Lifeguard Service says the most common reason for aquatic mishaps is a lack of safety knowledge.
