Top Guns - It's Miramar Air Show Time

Friday October 17, 2003
It's huge and it's loud and it's way cool. One of San Diego’s biggest and best-known public events, the Miramar Air Show, takes place this weekend with three day shows and the Saturday Twilight Show. This year’s Air Show dates at MCAS Miramar are Oct. 17, 18 and 19. Headlining the show is the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Team, better known as the Blue Angels. The theme this year is "Kitty Hawk to Miramar: 100 Years of Flight" and the event will have displays of a wide range of military aircraft, as well as other aerobatic performances. The best part is, as always, the Miramar Air Show is free. But be ready for huge crowds - over 500,000 spectators attended the shows last year - and sweltering heat on the tarmac (bring hats and water). Find out everything about the Miramar Air Show 2003 here, including info about directions and what you can bring.
