No Duh. La Jolla Is Most Expensive Housing Market
Tuesday October 5, 2004
As if we need more reminders on how expensive it is to own a home in San Diego County, Coldwell Banker released an interesting Home Price Comparison Index to show what the country's affordability gap is. So they priced a 2,200-square-foot home with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, family room and two-car garage for different areas of the country. In La Jolla, if you could actually find that house, it would cost over $1.7 million dollars, tops in the nation. But you could find that home in Minot, North Dakota for a mere $130,000, the most affordable. Just goes to show the price we pay for paradise. Check out the CNNMoney article on the most and least expensive housing markets.
