Go...Chargers?
Thursday November 11, 2004
Go figure: we're at the mid-season bye week and our hapless Chargers are, uh, tied at 6-3 for first place in the AFC Western Division. OK, I'm man enough to admit I surely didn't see this happening. And I really never thought QB Drew Brees would get his act together after a dismal 2003 and a shaky start this season to play like a man possessed (or at least staring at free agency). I figured this would be a wasted season watching big bucks rookie Phillip Rivers take his lumps. But wonder of wonders, this team is playing great. And they're not doing by playing boring Marty-ball - the Bolts are throwing and scoring like Air Coryell used to. It's time to jump on the bandwagon, and maybe we can lift the remaining blackouts. Check out the midseason report on the San Diego Chargers Official Website.
