Good Eats! Alton Brown Returns To Fashion Valley, July 16

Friday July 15, 2005
If you've never seen the Food Network show "Good Eats," you don't know what you're missing if you have any sort of interest in cooking. Unlike those other shows featuring gag-me-with-a-wooden-spoon, egomaniacal "star" chefs (can you say Emeril? Bobby Flay? Rocco Dispiritu?), "Good Eats" features geeky Alton Brown (who's also host of way cool Iron Chef America as well) teaching us how to cook regular old food in such an interesting and entertaining way that you come away with more knowledge about cooking dishes and ingredients than you ever knew. On "Good Eats," not only does Alton show you how to properly cook, say, scrambled eggs (hey, no oxtail concoctions here), but he'll explain why eggs do what they do when you cook them. Part cooking show, part science program, "Good Eats" is the best damn show on Food Network. You can see Alton Brown live on Saturday, July 16 when Fashion Valley Shopping Mall presents "Super Chefs Live!," an all-day culinary extravaganza featuring Brown and some other chefs. Alton will be doing several cooking demonstrations throughout the day.
