Baby Panda Born At The San Diego Zoo
Wednesday August 3, 2005
After a three-hour labor, Bai Yun, the San Diego Zoo's 13-year-old giant panda, gave birth to her third panda cub Tuesday night at 9:57 p.m. (Pacific Time). The tiny cub, like siblings Hua Mei and Mei Sheng before, emerged weighing about as much as a stick of butter. Its sex is yet to be determined. Mother and baby are doing well. You may even have a chance to glimpse at them in Bai Yun's birthing den on the San Diego Zoo's live Panda Cam on the Web.
