So, the last time I talked about skyrocketing gas prices in San Diego was last fall, when regular gas averaged around $2.40 a gallon in San Diego County. Well, if you've filled your tank in the last week, I don't have to tell you that the prices we're seeing around town are hitting unprecedented levels. According to UCAN, the average price this week hit an all-time high of $2.79 for regular - but if you've been driving around town, you've seen even regular gas at $3 more often than not. What makes it so painful is that we're gonna pay the prices no matter how high it gets. As John Fogerty sings in "Proud Mary": "Pumped a lot of pain down in New Orleans..." Well, it's even more painful here in San Diego. To keep track of local fuel prices and to see where the cheapest gas is around the county, check out UCAN's FuelTracker.Com website.
