Jerry Sanders is San Diego's New Mayor
Wednesday November 9, 2005
Seems like we haven't had a mayor for, like, forever. Between pension fund scandals, stripper-gate, Dick Murphy's resignation, City Hall has been one big stinkhole. Lest we not forget the whole Donna Frye write-in debacle last fall (has it been a year already?), which prompted this whole special election (well, that, and the Governator's whole proposition disaster). But I digress, because the voters have spoken and we have the former police chief, United Way director and Red Cross honcho Sanders as our new mayor, who decisively beat surfer-activist-politico Frye. Hmm...not a political office on the resume. Sounds like the voters sent a message. Read the election summary on the Union-Tribune site.
