Supporting Actress Nominee Michelle Williams Has San Diego Roots

Whenever there's an event or happening on a national or worldwide scale, local media always try to find that San Diego angle. Sometimes it's a reach (especially with local TV news). But with the upcoming Academy Awards looming this Sunday, there really is a San Diego connection to a major category nomination. Michelle Williams, who stars in Brokeback Mountain, actually grew up in San Diego County and attended Santa Fe Christian school and performed with the local Christian Youth Theatre. Her mother, Carla, still lives here and played a big part in her daughter's success.
