First, "American Idol" comes to town looking for the next "Idol." Now, TV's other ratings king heads into San Diego looking contestants with the right stuff. "Survivor" is holding an open casting call on Saturday, Jan. 26 for its 17th edition at Liberty Station in Point Loma. Beginning at 8 a.m., 400 people will be given an opportunity to record a 2-minute on-camera video on why they should be on Survivor. Contestants must be at least 21 years old. From these auditions, CBS will then contact 800 "survivors" for the next round of interviews, then down to 48 semi-finalists, from which 16 finalists will be chosen to appear on the show.
