Fallbrook Goes Green With Avocado Festival, April 20
Saturday April 12, 2008
If San Diego County is the capital of the U.S. avocado industry, then Fallbrook is the epicenter, as this part of north county is where you will find most of the avocado groves. And the small village in this most picturesque area of the county has an annual celebration of this "green gold" crop, which takes place on April 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The annual Avocado Festival draws thousands of people to the quiet village each year. Visit the many craft and food booths—you can never go hungry at the Avocado Festival. Colorful booths line Main and Alvarado Street featuring unique clothing, hats, arts, crafts, jewelry, and farm-fresh produce for purchase. A variety of bands and other live entertainment are offered for the pleasure of festival-goers. Beer gardens and numerous food vendors cater to every whim. Activities abound with cooking competitions (come prepared with your best guacamole recipe), as well exhibitions showcasing local talent. There will even be a race where the cars are made from avocados! For more information about the Fallbrook Avocado Festival, visit the offical website here.

Comments
Please correct the date to Sunday, April 20, 2008 for the Fallbrook Avocado Festival. We do not want to disappoint anyone.
The date of April 22 is a Tuesday, so we will not be having the Festival on that day.
