Fans of the Discovery Channel's hit reality series "Deadliest Catch" might be able to catch a glimpse of Phil, Sig, Andy, Jonathan or Keith if they head down to RT's Longboard Grill in Pacific Beach today.
That's because the show is filming these Alaska crab fishermen for an end-of-the-season segment of the show over the past couple of days, according to an article in the Union-Tribune.
So, why here in sunny San Diego and not up in freezing Dutch Harbor in Alaska? Producers say San Diego was selected as the site for the wrap-up series because of its legacy as a port for brave tuna fishers and its deep roots with the Navy. And probably because it's a lot nicer than Alaska.
“After the Catch” specials feature the fishing boat captains in a roundtable discussion of their experiences.
