Tonight (Nov. 27) from 5 to 11 p.m., the San Diego Chargers will be throwing a tailgate-style block party in the Gaslamp Quarter to celebrate the team's 50th anniversary, as well as to announce the 50 greatest Chargers ever. The event is outed as the largest tailgate party of the year and will include live entertainment on two stages, interactive games and celebrity and player appearances. Among the bands scheduled to perform are Super Diamond, Fountains of Wayne and DJs Scooter and Lavelle.
There will also be a "Fan Fest'' zone, where participants can put their athletic skills to the test with a variety of interactive games. And participating restaurants and bars in the Gaslamp will be offering up specialfood ad beverage deals to attendees.
Unfortunately, not only is the Block Party an admission only event ($40!), but you have to be 21-and-over to attend the event. So much for including the entire community.
