What do you do with 8,000 pounds of crawfish? You eat 'em. And you do it while enjoying Zydeco, Cajun and blues music, of course. The 2011 Gator by the Bay Zydeco & Blues Festival takes place May 7, 8 & 9 at Spanish Landing Park near Harbor Island.
Each year this event stacks a giant line-up of more than 85 performances appearing on 6 stages with tons of music, dancing, fun and food for everyone. Blues, Zydeco and Cajun performers include Brian Jack & The Zydeco Gamblers, Elvin Bishop, Eve Selis, Maria Muldaur,The Bayou Brothers, The Stilettos, Bill Magee Blues Band, Horace Trahan & The New Ossun Express and more. Evening dances and dancing lessons will also be offered this year to those who chose.
The festival daily admission is $20 on Friday, $25 Saturday & Sunday (each day); three-day festival package is $65. The festival runs from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. (4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday, May 6).
