Carly Smithson's San Diego
Thursday April 3, 2008
So, now that Carly Smithson continues to advance deep into this season's American Idol competition, the San Diego resident (by way of Dublin) is garnering more and more of a local following. And one of the hangouts where Smithson's San Diego fans gather is at a place that is actually where Carly worked before making to Idol: the Field Irish Pub & Restaurant in the Gaslamp Quarter downtown. Smithson worked at the authentic Irish pub five days a week as a server, and later, as a bartender, pouring pints of Guinness. In fact, the Field has become the public spot for Idol fans to gather and cheer on the Irish lass with the big voice. Just around the corner is another Carly Smithson hangout, Nothing Sacred, which is a tattoo parlor actually owned by Carly and her husband. So, if you've wondered about Smithson's tats - and have noted her husband in the audience sporting face tattoos, well the Nothing Sacred shop explains everything, right? Carly made it safely into next week's round after the public apparently liked her take of Dolly Parton's "Here You Come Again." So, we have at least one more week where we can head downtown to the Field for another episode of American Idol to cheer on Carly Smithson. Read more about Carly in my profile right here.
