Although living in San Diego might seem like an endless summer, like everyone else around the country, we mark the unofficial end of summer to be Labor Day weekend. For families, it's the last chance for vacation outings before it's time for back-to-school and all the other daily routines that mark the fall. But it's not too late to get in some last minute summer fun around town. Here are some suggestions for packing in your last week of summer oriented fun.

Legoland - This imaginative family-oriented theme park is a great place to take the youngsters any time, but this week is the last week to catch the LEGOLAND® Sports Jam Summer Show. Until August 31, the whistle blows and the action kicks into high gear daily on a radical half-pipe as dunking daredevils throw down reverse slams and tomahawk jams! BMX thrill riders will perform back flips, 720's, nac-nacs and no-handers. Extreme skateboarders mix "big air" with even bigger attitude and in-line skaters ride the rails - all to the high energy beats of the latest hip-hop hits. Also: Check out the Bionicle Blaster, their newest twisting ride.

San Diego Zoo - This is also the last week to catch the San Diego Zoo's summer event, Nighttime Zoo. Through September 1, experience an evening of wildlife discovery and dazzling entertainment. The adventure offers an opportunity to learn what mysterious things happen after dark in the world of rare and exotic animals and a chance to enjoy enchanting musical productions and shows for all ages. Don't miss “Jungle Dreams, The Last Orangutan” an acrobatic, up-tempo musical production features world-class, Olympic-style performers.

Sea World - A spine-tingling new 4-D movie experience awaits you with R.L. Stine’s Haunted Lighthouse. Spun from an old fisherman’s tale, mischievous children take you on a stormy adventure and dare you to discover the ghostly truth behind the legend of a haunted lighthouse. The movie’s 4-D effects will surely keep you on the edge of your sea. Plus, as the sun sets over Mission Bay, SeaWorld is transformed into a mystical land where mysterious amphibian creatures roam the park, exotic music fills the air and the night is capped with a dramatic fireworks display with the acrobatic show, Mystique de la Mer.

San Diego Wild Animal Park - With the summer nights being so warm, it's the last week to take in Park at Dark at the Wild Animal Park. With beating drums and high-energy African harmonies as their metronome, an up-beat troop of Kenyan acrobats will dazzle guests with courageous stunts. A new feature to Park at Dark this summer is a mysterious and intriguing group of performers. Elaborately costumed artists blend into the Park’s botanical background. What looks like an element of nature suddenly starts to grow and move before your eyes. Guests are sure to be surprised and enchanted by this new entertainment.

The Fleet Science Center - $6 After 6 p.m.Summer Classic IMAX Film Festival through August 31. Celebrate summer with sizzling film specials every evening at The Fleet! See two different IMAX® classics every week, for the special low price of just $6 each. Plus, you can enjoy our five exhibit galleries, featuring the all-new ExploraZone® 4, and our brand new motion simulator ride: DEEP SEA. The last two classic IMAX Films are "To the Limit" and "Everest."

Knott's Soak City U.S.A. - San Diego County's wildest water adventure park is the perfect place to keep the family cool with the most intense water rides imaginable -- all themed to the surf woodies and longboards of the 1950s San Diego coast! This is the last week where the park is open daily. After Sept. 1, it is opened only on the weekends through October.
