What You Can't Bring: No bags (purses, fanny packs or other carry-in items) larger than six inches by six inches are allowed; all bags will be subject to search. No cell phones. No cameras or video cameras after Wednesday. No lawn chairs or step stools (pop-up chairs and stools only; no carrying bags). No beverages (except sealed bottled water and special drinks such as baby formula). No food items (unless pre-prepared in clear bags and carried by hand in a plastic bag). No coolers, radios, TVs, signs or weapons.
What To Bring: Comfortable shoes, binoculars, sunscreen, a hat, a Sharpie pen if you want to try and snag an autograph, money for food, drink and souvenirs. And patience...between the shuttle to the parking lots and following the players around the course, it can be a long day.
Etiquette: If you somehow sneak your cellphone in, turn the thing off or have it on vibrate. And don't talk on it next to the green or tee box while the players are hitting - you're guaranteed to get a slew of evil eyes. Besides, no one cares about your conversation. And by all means, do not yell "You Da Man!" after Tiger's tee shots (or any other players'). You'll designate yourself a uncouth yahoo for the rest of the day.
Viewing the Action: North Course: 6th hole (for the view), between the 9th tee and 18th green, 16th green and 17th tee.
South Course: 1st tee, convergence of 2nd green & 3rd tee (for the view), anywhere along the 4th hole, tee shot landing area of 6th hole Also: the driving range and putting green for close-up views of the players.
Where to park: General parking ($15) will be available at Sun Runner/Sea World Drive and the Del Mar Show Park, with shuttle service to the golf course (don't even bother to try and park near the course). Parking in these locations can be purchased upon arrival of the respective lot.
