The 2009 Grandstand Entertainment Lineup

By Inigo Figuracion, About.com

2009 San Diego County Fair Grandstand Lineup:

American Idol makes its way back to San Diego in a big way. Fairgoers will have the chance to catch many of their Idol favorites during the 2009 San Diego County Fair’s Summer Concert Series. Winners Kelly Clarkson and David Cook, as well as last season’s runner-up, David Archuleta, will be taking the mic on three separate nights on the Heineken Grandstand Stage.

The Summer Concert Series will bring music of all types to this year’s Music Mania theme. The Heineken Grandstand Stage will have everything from country to rock ‘n’ roll, a little bit of soul and even rising stars. The winning band and soloist from this year’s Musicpalooza, the Fair’s own talent contest, will not only receive $25,000 each in cash prizes, but also have the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of the crowd as they open for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on July 3.

Tickets for paid shows, as well as reserved seating for other shows, are on sale now at the Del Mar Fairgrounds Box Office and online through Ticketmaster.
