What is San Diego Restaurant Week?:

Extraordinary three-course menus from San Diego’s best restaurants. Now a twice-yearly tradition as San Diego County’s largest and most successful dining event, San Diego Restaurant Week was launched with the intention of spotlighting the city as a premiere dining destination.

When is San Diego Restaurant Week?:

San Diego Restaurant Week takes place twice a year. The winter edition of 2012 San Diego Restaurant Week takes place January 15 - 20, 2012.

Is This Like A Food Sampling Event?:

No. Unlike other food fair events where you sample a small portion of a dish, San Diego Restaurant Week lets you sit down and dine from a full, three-course menu.

Is dinner the only meal offered by participating restaurants?:

San Diego Restaurant Week also offers lunch alongside dinner. This lunch program gives daytime diners the opportunity to feast on two-course lunch prix-fixe menus for just $10, $15 or $20 per person depending on the restaurant.

How Many Restaurants Participate, and Which Ones?:

Over 200 establishments participate in San Diego Restaurant week, from the well-established (Mille Fleurs, Bertrand at Mister A') to the trendy and hip (Cucina Urbana,The Wellington) to everything in-between. (See the official Website for the full list of participants).

Do I Need a Reservation?:

No, but they are highly recommended. Walk-ins are appreciated, but there is no guarantee that walk-in guests will be accommodated. Some participating (but not all) restauratants offer online reservations through OpenTable.com

How Much Does It Cost?:

The cost for dinner is $30 or $40 per person, per restaurant; for lunch the cost is from $10 to $20, depending on restaurant. The restaurant lineup is categorized by price. The fixed price covers a three-course meal from a special menu that each restaurant prepares for this event. There are no passes, coupons or tickets for San Diego Restaurant Week. *Price listed is per person, dinner only. Tax, beverages and gratuity are not included.

San Diego Restaurant Week Winter 2012:

Now in its eighth year as San Diego County’s largest and most successful dining event,San Diego Restaurant Week is designed to thank the people of San Diego for their patronage of local restaurants, and to spotlight San Diego as a premiere dining destination.

Organized by the California Restaurant Association in partnership with the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau and San Diego Magazine, Restaurant Week gives local food aficionados and visitors an opportunity to enjoy special three-course, prix fixe menus from more than 130 participating restaurants throughout San Diego County for either $30 or $40 per person.

A spectacular exhibition of San Diego’s finest culinary talents, Restaurant Week 2011 will once again illustrate why the city’s dining scene is rapidly becoming one of the nation’s hottest and most talked about. Restaurant Week will feature a vast array of options from established favorites as well as many new restaurants that have opened their doors during the past year.

Participating in San Diego Restaurant Week is easy – no tickets or special passes are required, only a quick call to the restaurant of your choice to make reservations; then simply dine out during the week of January 15 - 20, 2012.
