August 2008 Calendar of Events


Some might call August the dog day sof summer, but in San Diego it is anything but. There's lots to do around town as we head into the home stretch of summer, and here are some suggestions on what to do in San Diego during August.

Aug. 3 - Hawaiian Cultural Fair

Hui o Hawaii of San Diego hosts annual fair, boasting performance workshops of hula by Kumu Hula Sissy Kaio and slack-key guitar by Hawaiian musician, songwriter, producer Patrick Landeza. Aug. 3 - Bicycle Ride to Ramona

Aug. 3 - Automobile Heritage Day

17th annual event begins with vintage car parade starting at Mary J's Cafe, winds through National City. Aug. 3 - Co-Ed Drumming Circle
